Tips For An Awesome Show

First of all, I want to thank you all for all your hard work and dedication this session.  These shows can't happen without you guys and you are what make them so good!!  I can't wait to see you all strut your stuff next Sunday!  I'd like to take this time to also send you some information to help make this the most memorable experience we can.  Some pointers for a good show.

  • We only have time for a tech rehearsal for the Level 1 classes this time.  For this, I apologize.  Level 1 classes, please be at the venue by 4:30 at the latest, to run through your number.
  • Please be at the venue and as ready to go as possible by 6pm.  The doors open to the general public at 6:30pm and we start at 7pm.
  • Please, watch as many performances as you can but also, please be backstage and ready to go at least 2 numbers prior to your own.  Please no not make your instructors have to look for you, it's not good for them!
  • As in the studio, NO GUM!
  • Please make sure that your costume is covered up when you are not onstage.  You may use a veil, robe or sarong, something along those lines, just keep it covered!  I understand that you may really like this song and want to groove along, but if your sparkly bits are detracting from the performance onstage....well, no girl likes that.  You would like the audience's attention to remain on your performance, yes?  Please do the same for other artists.  Your costume is for the stage only.  (and your photos with adoring fans after, of course!)
  • As we keep telling you, and trust me, it never gets old, HAVE FUN!!  There are no mistakes, just small solos!  Laugh, smile, have a good time!  ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE!
  • Please, no food or drink (except water) backstage.  It would be really awful if someone got pizza sauce on your costume, wouldn't it?
  • Please come with as much of your hair and make up finished as possible.  You may need to touch up your lips or add a little more glitter, but please do your prep at home.  Mirror space is limited so it doesn't hurt to bring your ow hand mirror.
  • Please refrain from using scented products such as hair sprays and perfumes in the dressing rooms.  Some dancers have sensitivities to scents and it would be a complete drag if they had to go out onstage with puffy, watery eyes and unable to breath!
  • Again, HAVE A GREAT TIME!  I have no doubt that you are all going to sparkle on stage.  YOU'VE GOT THIS!  I cannot wait to share the stage with you all!

Hard Raq Cafe

All performers must be in the venue by 6:00pm (make sure you have your performer ticket!!).  Doors open at 6:30pm and the curtain goes up at 7:00pm.
You are welcome to watch the show from the audience, however, you must be backstage 2 numbers prior to your performance.  You may also watch the performance from backstage but please be mindful of other dancers entering and exiting the stage.
